Welcome!

Welcome to the webpages of the 'Data science in Astrophysics & Cosmology' Group!

Our group was newly formed at the University of Vienna in October 2020 and is a joint group hosted both at the Faculty of Mathematics and the Institute for Astrophysics.

We are interested in tackling the big questions of the origin of structure in our Universe, and the nature of the dark components (dark matter, dark energy). We utilise supercomputers to simulate the formation of the large-scale structure of the Universe, sophisticated mathematical modelling, as well as data-driven techniques and machine learning to approach these questions.

On these webpages, you can find information about the members of our team, our research, the software and data products we have publicly released. If you are interested in joining us in the exciting quest to understand the Universe and its physics a little better, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
